I've been told that Gods and Goddesses are not of another world, but of this world. They breathe and sigh like all beings. They are embodied and intangible. They make mistakes and behave through wisdom. They involve themselves in the everyday.
Through my art practice, I re-interpret Hindu religious iconography to try and express philosophies which may transcend boundaries of exoticism and language. I like to pare down images and ideas to provoke contemplation rather than distraction and novelty. I am interested in the invisible – and the possibility of witnessing the un-seen.
