Jeroo Roy is an artist from Mumbai, where she studied at the J J School of Art and at the London College of Prinitng. She has worked as children's book author and illustrator, magazine designer and as a building contractor.
Since 2001, she paints full time, and has had successful exhibitions at the Nehru Centre, Bhatarti Vidhya Bhuvan, Air Gallery and the Cork Street Gallery.
The last 3 years, she has been involved in paintings on 'Honour Based Violence' and on 'Violence towards Women & Children'. BBC did an Online article on these paintings and that led to her exhibiting at New Scotland Yard / Home Office International Conferences in London, in Sweden, Germany and at the Amnesty International in London.
Jeroo was recently comissioned to paint 208 portraits of inspirational women, who portray in a forthcoming book titled 'Confessions to a Serial Womaniser, and this collage measuring 9'wide x 3'tall, will be shown at the National Portrait Gallery from the 17th-21st of this September.
